10 Recipes That Don’t Skimp on the Shrimp

Bubba Blue, Forrest Gump’s war buddy, had it right… “Shrimp is the fruit of the sea.”

Such a versatile and delicious underwater critter deserves to be celebrated. And celebrate, we shall!

May 10th is National Shrimp Day. Never knew this was a thing, but I am Here. For. It!

I have been known to take Bubba’s suggestions to “barbecue it, boil it, broil it, bake it” and then some, but I’m always on the lookout for the best recipes to keep in rotation!

Here are some of my favorite shrimp recipes that definitely don’t skimp on the shrimp!

Shrimp Ceviche

Ceviche is one of my go-to snack recipes in the warmer months. It’s light, refreshing and delicious! Serve it up with some tortilla chips, top a quesadilla with it, or just eat it straight from a bowl! Love this recipe! 

Shrimp Fried Rice

I’m a huge fan of take-out type meals that are actually homemade. Makes me feel good knowing that I prepared a meal that tastes like I’m splurging on a treat, but my bank account hasn’t been impacted. This super simple Shrimp Fried Rice recipe definitely curbs my cravings!

Bacon- Wrapped Shrimp

Bacon and shrimp. ‘Nuff said. Can’t go wrong with these two main ingredients! Try out this perfectly sweet and savory recipe paired with some wild rice, a side salad and a Cucumber Gin Cocktail on a Summer evening… Perfection. 

Shrimp Alfredo 

Any huge pasta fans in the house? This is a great go-to crowd pleaser! It took me a while to become a pro at homemade Alfredo sauce, but if I’d had this super simple shrimp recipe, it would have saved me a lot of trouble. Straight up fool proof! And it’s devastatingly yummy!

Shrimp Cobb Salad

Gotta love a great salad, especially when it’s loaded with a shrimp and other filling goodness! Perfect for lunch or dinner, and you’ll definitely want to grab seconds or thirds or fourths! 

Shrimp & Broccoli Stir Fry 

Any chance to whip out the wok is exciting! It only takes 20 minutes to get this delicious meal on the table! Plate with some brown rice for a meal that is healthy and tasty!

Coconut Shrimp

coconut shrimpYUM!!! Love this recipe! While it calls for peanut oil, I have been known to substitute it for coconut oil. Either way, amazing flavor! The crispy coating and, oh, that sauce! BRB. My mouth is watering! 

Avocado Cucumber Shrimp Appetizers

This cool, crisp shrimp snack will be an absolute hit! I suggest making more than you think you need… They’ll be gobbled up!

Honey-Garlic Shrimp 

honey garlic shrimpI’m a sucker for an solid marinade! Garlic, honey and soy sauce make such a delicious, caramelized glaze for the shrimp that’ll leave you licking your fingers, the plate… don’t lick the pan! You’ll be tempted, but it’s not that serious. Try out this banger of a recipe!

Popcorn Shrimp

popcorn shrimpWhen talking about shrimp recipes, we have to include this oldie but goodie. We love popcorn shrimp! Anything bite sized, tasty and dipable is an automatic mainstay when meal planning, so these are a hit! I often substitute panko for the bread crumbs to give the shrimp a little extra crunch. Enjoy!
