‘Tis the season of festivals, haunted houses, and pumpkin patches! From trunk or treat stops to concerts under the starts, there are plenty of ways to celebrate fall in Houston. {And get multiple uses out of that costume for your kids!} We’ve got your complete guide to Houston Halloween events, and you don’t want to wait long to get started!
One of the coolest events that is happening on Oct 26th is Halloween Town at Constellation Field in Sugar Land! The event is from 4-8pm and admission is $5 for kids and $7 for adults. The festivities will include :: mechanical rides, inflatables, a scavenger hunt, face painters, vendors, balloon artist, a DJ, oversized backyard games, potato sack races, a petting zoo AND their sport court, playground and splash pad will be open. This looks like it will be such a fun, family event!

Friday, October 18th
Hocus Pocus Pops!
Location :: Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion
Time :: Starting at 7:30pm, Gates open at 6pm
Cost :: Orchestra Seating – $20 / All other seats are free!
Head up to The Woodlands for an evening of spooky sounds and creepy creatures as the Houston Symphony engulfs you in a nightmarish performance! If you dare, hop onto the Great Pumpkin Express and carve out some great (or gruesome) memories on The Pavilion’s haunted grounds.
Saturday, October 19th
ArBOOretum
Location :: Houston Arboretum & Nature Center
Time :: 10am – 4pm
Cost :: Non-Members – $15 pre-order, $20 at the door {children under 3 are free}, Members – FREE
Grab your costumes and get the kids together for the Arboretum’s biggest family event of the year! ArBOOretum features fun fall activities for all ages including live animals, pumpkin decorating, and Houston’s only Trick-or-Treat Nature Trail. Enjoy these fall classics and so much more!
OctoberPest
Location :: Houston Museum of Natural Science
Time :: 9am
Cost :: Included in the price of admission
At this event, you and yours can celebrate the fascinating world of bugs. Enjoy a bug petting zoo, gourmet insect cooking demonstration, face painting, monarch butterfly release, bugs & crafts, adopt-a-ladybug, and more! BONUS – Dress up like an insect, beekeeper, or other bug-related character … and you’ll receive a FREE ticket to the Cockrell Butterfly Center to use on a future visit.
Houston Zombie Walk
Location :: 19th Street in Houston Heights
Time :: 5pm – 10pm
Cost :: $10 donation to charity
The 9th Annual Houston Halloween Festival will feature entertainment and activities for the entire family including live music, beer gardens, food trucks, a costume contest and a Kids Zone for our youngest ghosts and ghouls. The kid’s zone will include a pumpkin patch, magician & juggling performances, carnival games, spin art, Halloween arts and crafts, kids cartoon characters, face painting, trick or treating, a kids costume contest and much more! The festival provides a fun and safe community environment for Houston families to celebrate Halloween. And if you want a little less tricks and more treats, all proceeds go to charity.
Pumpkin Patch Fall Festival
Location :: Russ Pitman Park at the Nature Discovery Center in Bellaire
Time :: 11am – 4pm
Cost :: Free
This two-day fall festival {October 19-20) returns to a transformed Russ Pitman Park at the Nature Discovery Center in Bellaire. Go with your family and pick out the perfect pumpkin, ride a horse-drawn wagon, visit local vendors, play on bounce houses and climbing walls, and get some good grub. Admission is free. Games, activities and food cost a varying number of tickets.
Pumpkins and Pilsners at the Square
Location :: Memorial City Square
Time :: 11am – 2pm
Cost :: Free
Bring the family to find the perfect pumpkin while celebrating fall at Pumpkins and Pilsners at The Square benefiting the Epilepsy Foundation of Texas. We will have a pumpkin patch and decoration station, live entertainment, arts & crafts and a pumpkin dress up competition.
Saturday, October 26th
Halloween Town at Constellation Field

Cost :: $7 for adults, $5 for kids 4 and up, kids 3 and under are free. Note :: Entering the costume contest is $3 if you pre-register online or $5 on site.
King & Spalding’s 2019 West U Halloween Dash
Location :: West University Place
Time :: 8am
Cost :: $20 and $25
Please join us for the only race in beautiful West University Place. Come dressed as your favorite ghoul or goblin. Our competitive 5k course is flat and fast, chip timed and USATF certified. The Kids Fun Run is not timed and is 1 mile long.
Tricks, Treats, & T-Rex! Halloween Festival
Location :: Houston Museum of Natural Science Sugar Land
Time :: 10am – 1pm
Cost :: Included in the price of admission
A spookathon of family fun filled with carnival games, trick or treating, a pumpkin patch, costume parade, costume contest, face painting and more. You’ll parade through the museum in the Grand Costume Contest with prizes! It’s a spooky Saturday you won’t forget!

Chills trickle down your spine as you step into the darkened museum after hours. Glancing around nervously, you walk towards the Haunted House – is that someone following you? Explore every creepy corner – you have the museum to yourself… or do you?

Bridgeland’s 10th Annual Howl-O-Ween Fest
Location :: Oak Meadow Park
Time :: 10am – 4pm
Cost :: Free
Enjoy food trucks, kids’ activities, pumpkin decorating, trick or treating {for pets and kids!}, roaming entertainment, a magic show, pet product and service vendors, and lots more. There will also be a pet rescue group with onsite adoptions, and the pooch fashion show and costume contest are guaranteed to be a howling good time!
19th Annual Thrill at the Mill
Location :: 7 Acre Wood
Time :: 9am – 3pm
Cost :: Free
Play on the playground, visit the petting zoo, enjoy a round of mini golf, and zip down the rope slide… Then, check out the vendor market and purchase your tickets for hayrides, pony rides, pumpkins, and food!
Deer Park’s 46th Annual Halloween Carnival
Location :: Jimmy Burke Activity Center
Time :: 2 – 5pm
Cost:: Free
Halloween activities abound at this fun-filled event, including a costume contest and a pumpkin carving / decorating contest. Carnival ride tickets and concessions are available for purchase too!
Tricks & Treats Among the Trees
Location :: Jesse H Jones Park and Nature Center
Time :: 3:30 – 7pm
Cost :: Free
Kids and the young at heart are invited to a free trick-or-treat nature trail with crafts, live creepy critters, games, hayrides, a critter storybook trail, and more. Proceeds from carnival-inspired games benefit Jones Park.
Halloween Kids Fest
Location :: Downtown Aquarium
Time :: 10am – 8pm
Cost :: Free admission for kids in costume!
All kids in costume receive a free meal and free admission to the Adventure Exhibit.
Trick or Treat Trail
Location :: Town Green Park
Tme :: 2 – 6pm
Cost :: Free
Princesses, pirates, ghosts and goblins are invited to don their costumes and enjoy a spooktacular celebration at the annual community-favorite Trick or Treat Trail at Northshore Park. While at the event, children have the opportunity to trick or treat from booth to booth and fill their bags with goodies from local vendors. Plus, the FREE event includes great strolling entertainment, inflatables, games, costume contests, photo areas and more!
Slime Off!
Location :: Children’s Museum of Houston
Time :: 2 – 6pm
Calling all age 8 and up mortals and monsters! Witness two teams as they get totally slimed in the Children’s Museum of Houston’s 3rd Annual “Slime Off!” Catch a slippery, slimy and sloppy dose of gross as two teams compete in a series of sticky challenges. Come support these brave souls as they brave being doused with 15-gallons of green ooey-goey concoction. Don’t forget your goo goggles!
Trick or Treat Our Street
Location :: Pearland Town Center

Come enjoy Trick-or-Treating around Pearland Town Center, please look for the bright orange sign for participating stores. Also, after you finish trick-or-treating, you will want to head over to the Pearland Town Center Pavilion to check out the Fort Bend Symphony Orchestra’s Haun-cert and the 1st Annual Pup-O-Ween.
Halloween Party at Galveston Island Historic Pleasure Pier

Dress up in your Halloween costume and enjoy crafts, games, and other special programs. Admission fee covers a fun make and take craft for the kids.

Boogie Bash Monster Mash
Location :: The Woodlands Children’s Museum
Time :: 11am
Cost :: $7
We’re celebrating Halloween with kid-friendly finger plays, songs, and creative movement activities. Available for young toddlers and children up to 5 years old, Boogie Bash provides children with a preliminary introduction to the space around them, encourages cooperation, promotes social interaction, develops a sense of rhythm, strengthens listening skills and enhances language development. No reservation needed.
Thursday, October 31st
Trick or Treat Trail
Location :: Independence Park Pearland
Time :: 5:30 – 8pm
Cost :: Free
Calling all ghosts and goblins! Join us at the 17th Annual Trick or Treat Trail! Trick-or-Treaters of all ages are invited out to this FREE community-wide event. The first 500 participants get a free Trick or Treat Bag for their treats. Local businesses and organizations will line the “trail” to pass out candy and other goodies.
Halloween Monster Mash Bash
Location :: Children’s Museum of Houston
Time :: 3 – 8pm
Cost :: Included in the price of admission
Looking for a safe and fun-filled Houston Halloween experience? Then, look no further! This Monster Mash Bash is the ultimate Halloween party for kids, featuring a wicked DJ, monstrous characters, Thriller Dance Party, and of course, trick-or-treating all evening long!
The Woodlands Children’s Museum Annual Spook-tacular

Best for kiddos age seven and under, The Woodlands Children’s Museum’s Halloween Spook-tacular is packed with fun things to do. You can expect to find stage entertainment, a bone dig, creepy crawly sensory play, a pumpkin ring toss, monster bowling, face painting, a photo booth, and art projects galore!
Bass Pro Shops Katy Halloween Event
Location :: Bass Pro Shops Katy
Time :: 4pm – 8pm
Cost :: Free!
In addition to trick-or-treating, kids can look forward to doing arts and crafts, drinking hot chocolate, and parading in their costumes as early as 4 p.m. at the two Houston-area locations. To top it all off, they can even take a picture with their favorite Peanuts’ character.
Halloween Trick-Or-Treat City Centre
Location :: City Centre
Time :: 5pm – 8pm
Cost :: Free!
Instead of Houston Halloween trick-or-treating outside, City Centre will offer children and parents the opportunity to prowl the district for tasty treasures during a district-wide trick-or-treat followed by a monster mash under the stars with Life Time Athletic in the plaza until 8 PM. Trick-or-treating will take place rain or shine and the event is BYOB {Bring Your Own Bucket/Bag}. Participating merchants with candy be identified with balloons.
Halloween Event at Service First Automotive in Cinco Ranch
Location :: Service First Automotive, 2044 S Mason Rd, Katy TX
Time :: 7:00am – 6:30pm
Cost :: Free!
Join Service First Automotive between normal business hours to play in the “Be a Kid” play area, visit the Treasure Chest, and trick or treat with their day-makers.
