HMB’s Guide to Celebrating the 4th of July in Houston

4th of July in Houston

In Town {In or Near the 610 Loop}

4th of July Celebration at Bayou Bend {1 – 5pm}
Crafts, activities, performers and refreshments highlight this celebration! Don’t forget to sign the giant Declaration of Independence before you leave!

Bellaire July 4th Parade and Festival {9am – 1pm}
Participate in the Children’s Parade before the big parade — kids are encouraged to decorate bikes, wagons, etc. and meet at Community National Bank. {No need to register, just be at CNB by 9am!} Festival begins immediately after parade and includes petting zoo, live entertainment, games, dunk tank and more!

Freedom Over Texas {4 – 10pm}
Located at Eleanor Tinsley Park on Buffalo Bayou, Freedom Over Texas is a 6-hour celebration of freedom, including live music, vintage aircraft flyovers, children’s entertainment area, food, and more! Tickets are $8 until midnight  7/3, and $10 at the gate – kids 5 and under are FREE!

Houston Dynamo Game {game starts at 7:30pm}
Celebrate the 4th of July on the pitch by supporting your local MLS team as they take on the NY Red Bulls — and stick around for post-game fireworks! Tickets available here!

Maravilloso Contemporary Circus {7 – 10pm}
A special, FREE, contemporary circus event at Discovery Green!

Star Spangled Salute {show starts at 8:30pm}
Enjoy an evening of patriotic music courtesy of the Houston Symphony and Principal Pops Conductor Michael Krajewski. Tickets are FREE, but must be picked up from box office between 10:30am-1pm.

North

4th of July over Lake Conroe {starts at 9:15pm}
Enjoy a beautiful and exciting fireworks show over Lake Conroe at dusk.

Red, Hot, and Blue Festival {6 – 10pm}
Join the Woodlands Convention Center and Visitor’s Bureau for the 17th Annual Red, Hot, & Blue Festival. Enjoy live music, face painting, hot dog and watermelon eating contests, and more! Admission is FREE, fireworks begin at dusk!

Northwest

Fireworks at the Lake {7:30 – 9:30pm}
Enjoy live music and entertainment on the shores of Towne Lake, followed by the largest fireworks display in Northwest Houston at 9:00pm. The event is free!

Tomball July 4th Celebration and Street Party {5:00pm – 9:30pm}
An evening of celebration honoring America’s independence! Live music, food, games, and activities followed by a fireworks spectacular at dusk.

Northeast

Kingwood July 4th Festival {2 – 9:30pm}
Live music, craft and food booths, kids’ bounce house and bungee jump, and fireworks!

East

The City of Baytown 4th of July Celebration {July 3rd 6:30 – 9:30pm | July 4th 7am – 10pm}
The City of Baytown has a packed 4th of July holiday! The festivities start with a 5k run at 7am and commence with a fireworks spectacular. Entertainment for the day also includes an appearance from Montgomery Gentry, Breelan Angel, vendor booths, and a parade!

LaPorte 4th of July Festivities {10am – 9pm}
LaPorte kicks off the festivities with a parade in the morning, and a concert in the evening followed by fireworks at Sylvan Beach!

South

Friendswood 4th of July Celebration {10am – 10pm}
Friendswood has a full day of events to celebrate America’s independence! The festivities begin with a parade at 10am, followed by a celebration at Stevenson Park with rides, games, food, and live entertainment until 3:30pm. The evening program will be held at Centennial Park and is highlighted by a performance by the cover band Molly and the Ringwalds, the evening will conclude with a fireworks extravaganza beginning at approximately 9:20pm!

Pearland Celebration of Freedom {6 – 10pm}
A VFW military salute will kick off the festivities, followed by entertainment and a fireworks spectacular – at Pearland High School Football Stadium!

Southeast

El Lago Parade {parade starts at 9am}
Parade follows a 1.5 mile route through city, followed by a picnic in McNair Park.

Galveston Island Independence Day and Firework Show {7:30 – 10pm}
Galveston Island will celebrate Independence Day with a procession of floats, military vehicles, and performers. Parade kicks off at 7:30pm along Seawall Blvd., with fireworks starting at 9:15!

Kemah 4th of July Celebration {show starts at 9:30pm}
Live music and patriotic fireworks show over Galveston Bay!

League City 4th of July Celebration & Citizen Appreciation Day {11:30am – 4pm}
Live music, moon walks, petting zoo, face painting, and pony rides!

Pasadena’s Annual 4th Fest {4 – 10pm}
Live music, KidZone, car show, cook-off, fireworks and more; 4th Fest is Pasadena’s largest city-sponsored event!

Southwest

Freedom Rings Concert at the Stafford Center {7 – 9:30pm}
Enjoy live music from the FBSO, followed by a fireworks show! Free admission!

Missouri City 4th of July Celebration {6 – 10pm}
This year’s celebration kicks off at 6:00pm at Buffalo Run Park — there will free activities including moonwalks, pony rides, a rock wall, and a mechanical bull. The first 600 kids will receive a free giveaway prize, and fireworks begin at 9:15pm.

Sugar Land’s Star Spangled Spectacular {7 – 10pm}
Celebrate America’s Birthday at Constellation Field! There will be a variety of entertainment for the entire family as well as a fireworks display!

West

Fourth of July Music and Fireworks at CityCentre {July 3rd – July 6th}
The July 4th Weekend welcomes four nights of free concerts – plus an Independence Day fireworks spectacular.

Far West

Katy Fire & EMS Open House {11am – 3pm}
Meet your Katy firefighters and “Katy” the dalmation, tour the station, explore a fire truck and Life Flight helicopter, petting zoo, vehicle extrication demos, free food and drinks, and more! Location :: 1417 Avenue D – Katy, TX

Katy Freedom Celebration {show starts at 9pm}
Fireworks display held at Katy Mills Mall!

LaCenterra’s July 4th Celebration {4:30 – 9:45pm}
The celebration kicks off with a children’s bike parade, followed by live music, an interactive Kid Zone as well as food purchase, and concludes with a fantastic fireworks display!
