Christmas is a wonderful time to show love and gratitude for friends and family. But it doesn’t stop there! There are lots of other people that I want to show thanks to as well, including the sweet teachers that care for my girls. The moms group I attend on Tuesdays provides free childcare, and each of my girls has 3 teachers in their class. They also have several different teachers in Sunday school at church. My little one actually just moved up to a new Sunday school class, so now she has new teachers as well as her old ones. As you can see, the list gets long and the spending can add up fast! 1} Baked Goods
It is always a treat to get some homemade goodies. Just double, triple, or quadruple your recipe – and get it all done at once! I like to make things ahead of time and freeze them so I am not busy at the last minute. A few of my favorites are Oreo Balls {although these have to stay refrigerated}, Peppermint Bark, Oreo Peppermint Crunch Cookies, Red Velvet Cookies, and Hot Chocolate Triple Chocolate Chip Cookies.
2} Gift Cards
The perfect gift for anyone! Who wouldn’t like a $5 Starbucks card? Or Target card? Or Chick-fil-A card? Those are my top favorites.
3} Chalkboard
I recently bought some chalkboard spray paint, and I am loving it. Can you ever have too many chalkboards? Pinterest would say no. I bought this plain wood at Hobby Lobby for $1.50 {half off} and a wooden easel for $1.50 {half off}. I brushed on a layer of primer and sprayed it with chalkboard paint. This would be cute for any holiday!
4} Hand Soap
I love scented hand soap and hand sanitizer. I am cheap and just buy the basic antibacterial store brand soap for myself though, so fancy soap is always a treat! Bath and Body Works always has good coupons and sales around Christmas, and HomeGoods and Tuesday Morning usually have inexpensive soaps too.
5} Reusable Tote Bag
You can find really cute and inexpensive reusable bags just about anywhere. I have seen pretty ones at HomeGoods and JoAnn Fabrics as of late.
And remember, you don’t even have to spend money to show someone appreciation this holiday season! So if you don’t have the budget for gifts, no worries! A hand written note is always a meaningful way to show someone you care.
