Spring is located north of downtown Houston off I45 N. It’s close proximity to major energy companies, The Woodlands, and to major thoroughfares make it a very convenient place to live and grow a family. Spring is a growing area with tons of great houses. 

Spring has many great neighborhoods to consider, like Northampton, Woodbriar Place, Bella Sera, Benders Landing Estates, Augusta Pines, Champion Forest, and many more! Neighborhoods.com is a great place to start to find out more about these neighborhoods and to find a house.


Why Moms Love it

Moms love Spring because it is close enough to everything without the feeling of being in a big city. The smaller city allows for fun outdoor outings, like hiking and biking with friends and family. The local parks are outstanding! Old Town Spring hosts great family friendly events, market days, festivals, parades, and lots of great shopping. Spring is also close to The Woodlands Waterway and the fun, free trolley in The Woodlands.

At HMB, we love family-friendly activities. If it’s hot outside {because, it’s HOUSTON}, we recommend these indoor play places and these awesome splash padsWe also love taking care of ourselves. We have compiled a list of mommy-favorite fitness classes around town that can help you with self care.

  • Wet N Wild Splash Town is a fun water park that your kiddos will love. Perfect for all age levels. 
  • Mercer Arboreteum and Botanical Gardens hosts weekly story time, stroller strolls, lunches, and more. Their summer camps are fun and informative for kiddos, as well as their Children’s Garden. Moms love their plant sales and the garden clubs. 
  • The Woodlands Children’s Museum has interactive exhibits and imaginative play through their permanent and rotating exhibits, perfectly designed for all ages:: toddler to elementary school. They also host special and fun events throughout the year. 
  • Jones Park and Nature Center features over 300 acres of pristine forests, swamps, beaches, and more. There are dozens of boardwalks and trails, pavilion and picnic areas, restrooms, playgrounds, outdoor classrooms, and an educational nature center. 
  • North Shore Park is an absolute gem in The Woodlands! It’s on the lake, so bring bread to feed the ducks. They have playground equipment for older and younger kids, and lots of green space for family activities. Check their website for special events like family-friendly concerts!   • Houston Public Libraries boast quite a few family friendly activities. Find your closest location here. Your kids will love the library and all of its FREE fun things to do. A few of us may even want to move into it! A lot of neighborhoods even boast Free Little Libraries that can help your kid keep their love of reading alive.  

Childcare and Schools

We know finding great child care and schools is a daunting task.  There are hundreds of great day care options in this area, but finding the right one for your family takes work. Elements Montessori Preschool is a great option for private pre-school. Spring is serviced by the aptly named Spring ISD. Private school options are also available:: Founders Christian School, Frassati Catholic High School, St. Edward’s Catholic School, and more! There are also many charter schools across Houston, like YES Prep and Harmony Schools. Lone Star College also has a Spring campus.  


Perfect Date Night/Staycation

Mommy breaks like date nights, an occasional brunch, and staycations are an important part of self care.
