A Houston Mom’s Guide to June 2018

Schoooool’s out for summah!

If you are anything like me, you started hyperventilating a week or so ago thinking “WHAT ARE WE GOING TO DO THIS SUMMER???”  Don’t you worry!  Even though it’s going to be HOT, HOT, HOT this month, the city of Houston is showing off and providing us with some amazing activities to fill up your days and make it a summer to remember!  I challenge you to get out and explore your city and try something new this month!  At the very least it will tire your children out for a quiet car ride home if you’re lucky!

This month, we are so excited to introduce you to our friends and sponsors — A.D. Players at The George. There are so many things we adore about this local organization, but we especially love their unique style and commitment to producing compelling theatre that upholds human value, celebrates creativity and engages a diverse audience. {A mother’s dream, amiright?} The company is one of Houston’s largest resident theater companies, impacting more than nine million people over its lifetime, and annually the company produces Mainstage Theatre performances, fields a Regional Touring Unit and maintains a year-round Performing Arts Academy.

At the beginning of 2017, their troupe moved into a brand new, state-of-the-art venue called the Jeannette and L.M. George Theater, and we are over the moon about all of their upcoming shows.  Namely, their final children’s show of the season “David, the Best Slinger in the West” which is set to run June 7-22.  We’ve got the full scoop on it in our guide below, but you can always head to ADPlayers.org for more info and to snag your tickets and view show times!

Be sure to also note all of the other fun events happening in and around Houston this month.  There are festivals, 5k’s, family movie nights & more!  Grab your bug spray, sunscreen, and hand-held fan :: let’s do this, mamas!
