A School Where Gifted Children Learn Best

We are proud to partner with Rainard School for the Gifted and share with our readers about this unique school that could be an excellent fit for your family.

Another school year is winding down, and parents and kids everywhere are ready for a break and all the relaxation and fun that summer entails. Vacations, pool time, and camps are at the forefront of most people’s minds, but the start of the next school year is never truly out of sight, out of mind. And while many families know where their children will return or start school in August, some are still considering their options and looking to make a school change. Parents of gifted children often have unique challenges in choosing an educational path for their kids, because gifted children have unique needs. The Rainard School for Gifted Students strives to meet these needs for Houston kids.

An Intimate, Differentiated Learning Environment for Gifted Children

The Rainard School for Gifted Students is located in a beautiful wooded area of Spring Branch in West Houston. Serving students from Pre-K through 8th grade, it is Houston’s only private school for gifted children. The faculty and staff of the school understand the academic and emotional needs of these students. They provide them with a learning environment designed to challenge them intellectually, while also helping them navigate friendships and other important relationships.

With a low student-to-teacher ratio in the classrooms, teachers are able to differentiate the curriculum to accommodate each child’s unique learning style. Students’ academic, social, and emotional needs are nurtured through the school’s intimate setting, a curriculum that emphasizes responsibility and caring, and the interactive nature of their indoor and outdoor spaces. Rainard students spend a lot of time outdoors, both learning and playing.

Advanced, Project Based Curriculum

They believe gifted students progress best with hands-on learning, with both individual projects and collaboration with peers.

Rainard also uses its own unique, school-wide, year-long learning themes. While the underlying curriculum serves as the baseline guide for studies, each of these learning themes provides inspiration and focus for learning opportunities, including classroom investigations, class projects, reading selections, and field trips.

Speaking of field trips, Rainard students take monthly ones! All kids LOVE field trips and getting out of the school setting to experience learning in different ways.
