Title sponsored by Next Level Urgent Care, this special event is being held on Sunday, May 5th from 2:00-4:00 pm at the Dukessa. This exclusive event is geared toward ALL moms who are looking to have a fabulous afternoon out, hear from some amazing speakers, sip on some mock and cocktails and enjoy some tasty bites. Who: All Houston moms (you do not have to be expecting to attend!). This event is geared towards ALL moms, whether you are currently expecting, have one little one, or four big ones!
What: Bloom is a national event for new and expecting moms hosted by City Moms Blog Network and our sister sites, which will be taking place in more than 50 cities across the country during the months of April and May.
Why: Whether you’re expecting for the first or third time, have a newborn at home or are working your way through the toddler, adolescent or teen years, this event is for you. Come enjoy an afternoon of delicious food, educational resources, giveaways and swag, and connecting moms and families with relevant local resources!

*Please Note: This event is geared towards all moms. Children OVER 12 months old will not be permitted and due to space constraints, children UNDER 12 months old must be worn in a carrier or held, as there is no room for strollers at this event.

Mary Ellen Phipps is the founder of milkandhoneynutrition.com. She is a wife, mom, registered dietitian, and type 1 diabetic. She uses her real life experiences, along with professional expertise to help you find JOY in food again. Whether you’re living with a chronic illness, or raising tiny humans, food should be a joy-filled, happy experience. She’ll help you thrive in the kitchen with less stress, and more joy. In addition to visiting her website, or chatting on Instagram (@milknhoneynutrition), you can catch Mary Ellen regularly on Channel 2, on Houston Life TV.
Crystal Duffy is an author, teacher, speaker, NICU parent advisor, and Mother to three little girls including a set of twins. Her memoir, Twin to Twin, details her high-risk twin pregnancy and NICU journey. She runs a support group called Life After the NICU at the Houston Motherhood Center and teaches an expectant twins parents class through Twiniversity. She is currently working on her second book about the importance of peer support for NICU families.
Jessica is a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor and a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional. She has a growing private therapy practice in the Montrose area with several licensed professionals completing their post graduate clinical hours and counseling students which allow us to offer sliding scale and reduced fee rates. She has a special clinical interest in depression, anxiety, trauma, and maternal mental health and is currently working on receiving intensive training on Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders as well as Perinatal Grief and Loss from the Seleni Institute.
Gabriela Gerhart is the founder of The Motherhood Center. She established this haven for mothers in 2003, turning a lifelong dream into reality. She discovered her passion for babies and child care early. Gabriela was born and raised in the small mountain village of Jablunkov, Czechoslovakia. She values her hometown’s warm and nurturing environment-an environment she ensures at The Motherhood Center. She attended The Secondary Medical School of Ostrava, receiving degrees in Pediatric Nursing and Physical Therapy. She worked in the Pediatric Emergency Room in Ostrava, before accepting a position in the United States that became a major turning point in her life.
