Tanabata Celebration

July 7 @ 10:30 am - 12:30 pm

| Free – $7

During our Tanabata Celebration, watch Japanese dance performances at 10:30am, 11:30am, 12:30pm. Enjoy hands-on art projects and join Miss Jan for a special reading at 11am of The Star Festival by Moni Ritchie Hadley. This beautifully illustrated story introduces us to Keiko and her family, who are celebrating Tanabata.  We get to explore the many traditions of The Star Festival, including the special foods like shaved ice and hanging tanzaku (paper wishes) on a bamboo tree.

Event is included in the price of admission, which is $7 for adults and children 1 year and older.
