Fiestas Patrias

September 17 @ 10:00 am - 3:00 pm

| Free – $15

Celebrate Independence Day for many Latin countries as our annual celebration returns to the Museum.

On September 15, 1810, Father Miguel Hidalgo climbed atop a church and encouraged people to fight for Mexico’s independence. This “cry” for liberty marks the anniversary of Mexico’s “Grito de Dolores” and it’s celebrated with music, fireworks, and parades. But Fiestas Patrias isn’t only celebrated by Mexico, other countries which celebrate Fiestas Patrias are Chile, Panama, Peru and Guatemala.

Funded in part by the City of Houston through Houston Arts Alliance.

Celebrate at the Museum with music, art, dance and more!
