The Houston Museum of Natural Science comes to Levy Park to offer an opportunity to learn firsthand from Museum experts. Encounter real specimens and artifacts from the museum collection in an intimate, educational atmosphere.

Focus on Fossils: Dig into fossils with the Houston Museum of Natural Science. You’ll explore how fossils are made, where to locate them, and how they are found! Investigate the different methods of fossilization, the major fossil types, and how the environment and other elements help fossils to form. See a demonstration of how paleontologists use molds and casts, and get up-close with real fossil specimens from the Museum collections as you discover all the facts on fossils. Want to know why scientists are so interested in fossils? From footprints to bones to petrified wood, this program reveals the amazing clues fossils teach us about life millions of years ago!
