Friday Favorites:: Subscription Box Edition

Houston Moms "Friday Favorites:: A Weekly Glance at Our Favorite Things" #houstonmoms #houstonmomsblog #momsaroundhoustonFor this round of Friday favorites, I thought I’d mix it up a bit! I love sharing what I love with people, and what’s making my life easier at this moment, so this time I’m going with a theme! I’m sharing my five favorite, tried and true, subscription boxes! I personally use all of these and they make my life (and my family’s) so much easier.

Little Spoon

 First things first, let’s talk about toddler meal times.  Is it just me, or does meal time for your toddler sometimes feel like pulling teeth?  Just me?  Ok. It’s fine.  Anyway, Little Spoon is a total game changer! These are well balanced meals that my kids love. Even my pickier eater has several that she enjoys, and they’re so simple. You go on the website and hand pick which meals you want to order and they ship them to you and you put them directly in the freezer. When you’re ready for a meal {they have breakfast, lunch, and dinner options}, simply pull it out the freezer and microwave for 90 seconds! It’s perfect for weekends when I don’t want to give into another mac and cheese request or those busy weeknights when I just want to warm something up for them, put everyone to bed, and enjoy a well balanced meal of wine and popcorn for myself.

Hellobello

With my first, we did cloth diapers because the thought of diapers sitting in a landfill for years and years and years just grossed me out, and I wanted to minimize the chemicals we were putting on our baby’s bum.  However, by time we had our second, we moved here to Houston and our new childcare did not accept cloth diapers so it simply wasn’t feasible. But, I still wanted a more environmentally friendly option of disposables. This is where Hellobello came in! These diapers are hypoallergenic so I know my baby won’t have a reaction, they have really cute designs, and the best part is they come right to your door every month.  You can change your delivery date if you feel like you need diapers sooner or not as soon too which is really nice! And once, I forgot to size up, and they were so helpful with helping me exchange all SEVEN packs of too small diapers.

Young, Wild & Friedman

We found these pre-pandemic, but during COVID, with so many hours at home, I finally tried the Young, Wild & Friedman subscription! These sensory bin and play dough boxes are my toddler’s favorite. Julie is a local mom who created these boxes as a way to help her own daughter but she has such great ideas that everyone loves them, including myself. My daughter plays with these kits over and over and every time we get a new one, she’s excited. If you’re wondering how to occupy your little’s time without screen time, look no further!

Homechef

Anyone else exhausted from meal planning?  Or, do you plan your meals for the week and by time you get to that night, it no longer sounds appealing so you wind up ordering out and then throwing out unused food? Just me again? No problem.  Thankfully, Homechef fixed that issue for me! I go online each week and pick out a couple of meals or three or four and our family always loves them.  I always cook them because they’re new and because I don’t want to waste money. I also love that you can skip weeks as needed and they have lots of different options including some health conscious ones.

Daily Harvest

I’m sensing a theme here. I really like food subscription boxes.  And even with all of these, I promise I still spend a lot of time cooking, especially now that we don’t travel much. I love these smoothies! Sometimes I want a quick way to get some fruits and veggies without another salad or piece of fruit but I don’t want to get out a bunch of different items and make a mess of my kitchen. Daily Harvest solves that problem! The smoothie comes in a cup with the frozen fruits and veggies. You fill that cup to the top with your liquid of choice. I’ve used several things but honestly, I enjoy it with just plain water and blend quickly and then return it back to that cup! How simple is that?

So tell me, have you tried any of these subscription boxes? Am I missing any of your favorites?
