A Houston Mom’s Guide to May

Flowers are blooming, allergies are booming, and school is <this close> to being out. Y’all… May is packed full of fun activities, and we highly encourage you to take advantage of our still cooler temps before the real heat comes in June! I personally love this month in Houston with all of the outdoor movies, various festivals around town, and athletic activities for the entire family, so dive into our comprehensive list below to see what is coming up for us Hosutonians.

However, before we spring into everything May, I can’t wait to introduce you to this month’s sponsor — Houston Methodist Hospital.  As we celebrate our mothers this month, May is also the month in which Houston Methodist Hospital focuses the spotlight on women’s health services as an integral area of the hospital’s comprehensive range of specialized care.  You can count on receiving undivided attention and personalized treatment when it comes to women’s health at Houston Methodist with specialties such as gynecology, labor and delivery, mammograms and breast care, pelvic floor disorders, gynecologic cancers, and osteoporosis. In addition, Houston Methodist Breast Care Centers focus on offering mammograms as an essential component of their cancer prevention screenings for women. Early detection helps provide women with more treatment options and increases the possibility of favorable outcomes.

And this month, Houston Methodist is pulling out all the stops on the last day of May by hosting a women’s health event at Hotel Zaza in the Museum District that you do not want to miss. As you’re browsing through the various events listed below, be sure and take note of all of the details and info listed for this one.  Then, mark it on your calendar so we can see YOU there too!

Ready to enjoy those spring flowers after the April showers? Us too! As Mother’s Day approaches, we hope that you take some time out for YOU – whether that includes full-on pampering and brunch, or perhaps just catching a nap and ordering dinner in. From all of us to all of you…  Happy Mother’s Day, sweet mama!
