4th of July is exactly one week away, and thankfully in Houston there is no shortage of places to go or things to do! Being right smack dab in the middle of the week may result in more folks staying close to home and celebrating in the greater Houston area, so make sure to allow plenty of time to get to where you are going safely and get a good view of the festivities.

Freedom Over Texas {July 4th, 4 – 10pm}
Located at Eleanor Tinsley Park on Buffalo Bayou, Freedom Over Texas is a 6 hour celebration of freedom, including live music, children’s entertainment area, food, and more! Tickets are $8 through July 3rd and $10 at the gate {or online the day of the show} – kids 5 and under are FREE! Oh, and this year Chris Young is headlining!
Star Spangled Salute @ Miller Outdoor Theatre {July 4th, 8:30 pm}
The Houston Symphony continues its annual celebration at Hermann Park’s Miller Outdoor Theatre. Festivities include fireworks accompanied by a dramatic 16-cannon salute. This is a ticketed event for the covered seating area, and FREE tickets are available {4 per person over age 16 while they last} at the Miller Outdoor Theatre box office the day of the performance between the hours of 10:30am – 1pm. Seating is open and FREE on the hill.
Bellaire July 4th Parade & Festival {July 4th, 9:30 am – 1 pm}
The parade begins at 9:30 am and is followed by the community festival from 10 am to 1pm. Bring the entire family and enjoy the parades, carnival games and rides, petting zoo, and much more! Festival held at Bellaire Town Square and Loftin Park.

Star-Spangled Salute with the Houston Symphony {July 3rd, 8 pm, Doors open 6:30 pm}
This is the 28th FREE Independence Eve Spectacular at Cynthia Mitchell Woods Pavilion. $20 preferred parking is available, and free parking lots are also available. Please note that backpacks and bags larger than 8.5 x 11″ are not allowed. Outside food and drinks are allowed. Check website for restrictions and further details.
The Woodlands Annual Red, Hot & Blue Festival {July 4th, 9 am – 10 pm}
Enjoy the whole day with the family in The Woodlands. Start the day at 9 am with a parade including marching bands, fire engines, horses, and floats. Then cool off with the fun filled activities at one of the 14 community pools from 10 am to 6 pm – FREE for all residents. Finish the night with a community wide celebration and an 18 minute firework show, performed in 4 locations.

Enjoy live bands, craft and food booths, kid zone entertainment, and end the night at 9 pm with the traditional fireworks display at Town Center Park!

Tomball July 4th Celebration & Street Fest {July 4th, 5 – 11:00 pm}
An evening of celebration honoring America’s independence! Live music by the Mambo Jazz Kings, food, games, and activities followed by a fireworks spectacular around 9:30 pm. Admission and parking are both FREE!
Waller Freedom Fest {July 3rd, 6 – 9 pm & July 4th, 3 – 9 pm}
Two days of celebrations beginning Tuesday, July 3rd. Waller’s Freedom Fest includes helicopter rides, bubble runners, water slides, rock walls, bumper boats, and of course – fireworks both nights.

Baytown July 4th Celebration {July 3rd, 6 – 9 pm & July 4th, 3 – 9 pm}
Baytown starts the celebration with concerts Tuesday night at Bicentennial Park. Then on Wednesday the family-friendly fun begins at 4 pm with music, crafts, games, and food and. The parade starts at 5:30 pm , and concerts by Roger Creager and Brent Brunson with a George Strait tribute. The fireworks extravaganza begins at 9:30 pm.

Friendswood July 4th {July 4th, 10 am – 10 pm}
The festivities begin with a parade at 10 am, followed by a celebration at Stevenson Park with rides, games, food, and live entertainment until 3:30 pm. The evening program will be held at Centennial Park with a concert at 7:30 pm and a fireworks extravaganza beginning at approximately 9:20 pm!
Pearland Celebration of Freedom {July 4th, 6 – 10 pm}
A VFW military salute will kick off the festivities, followed by entertainment and a fireworks spectacular at Pearland High School Football Stadium. Food is available for purchase, but you are welcome to bring your own too.

Galveston Island Independence Day Celebrations {July 4th, 7:30 – 10 pm}
Galveston Island will celebrate Independence Day with a procession of floats, military vehicles, and performers. The parade kicks off at 7:30 pm along Seawall Blvd. with fireworks starting immediately after!
Kemah July 4th {July 4th, fireworks start at 9:30 pm}
Live music and patriotic fireworks show over Galveston Bay! {Did you know the Kemah boardwalk actually has a fireworks show every Friday during the summer?}
League City’s Light Up the Sky Fireworks Spectacular {July 3rd, 6 – 10 pm}
League City is hosting its first ever pre-Independence Day celebration on Monday, July 3rd at Chester L. Sportsplex {1251 W. League City Parkway}. Residents are invited to enjoy a colorful light show, food trucks, live music, entertainment, and inflatables. Admission is FREE!
4th Fest in Pasadena {July 4th, 4 – 10 pm}
Celebrate the 4th of July at the Pasadena Convention Center with a car show, Kidzone, BBQ cook-off, water balloon war zone, games, prizes, and more. All ending with a 20 minute long fireworks show!
Seabrook Kids Parade {July 4th, 10 am – 12 pm}
A July 4th parade just for kids at Meador Park! Enjoy free hot dogs, drinks, and games. Plus, there will also be a bouncy house, train, and prizes to win!
Nassau Bay July 4th Celebration {July 4th, Noon – 10 pm}
A community wide festival and fireworks celebration at Nassau Bay. Water wars are from Noon – 2 pm, and then stick around for the parade, pie contest, and fireworks afterwards.

4th Fest at Constellation Field {July 4th, starts at 4 pm}
Enjoy a fun night at Constellation Field featuring performances from the Cory Green Band, Mike and the Moonpies and Jason Boland & The Stragglers. Other attractions include a zip line, mechanical bull, a rock-climbing wall, face painting, trampolines, inflatable slides and more. Gates open at 4pm. FREE admission for Sugar Land residents with advanced tickets. $7 tickets for purchase.
Missouri City Tradition {July 4th, 6 – 10 pm}
Missouri City’s patriotic tradition offers lots of family friendly activities at Buffalo Run Park. Food will be available for purchase from food trucks and local vendors. At 9:15 pm, the fireworks show will begin, and stadium seating will be available at Thurgood Marshall High School for the show.
An American Tradition @ George Ranch {July 4th, starts at 9 am}
Enjoy a scavenger hunt through time, play croquet, or join a sack race! There’s also a parade, cobbler eating contest, and a hot dog feast. Reservations are STRONGLY encouraged for this event. Purchase tickets here.
Lake Jackson Concerts on the Plaza {July 4th, 7 – 10 pm}
Bring your own lawn chairs and refreshments to the plaza to listen to music by Cole Deggs.

City Centre Independence Day Fireworks Spectacular {July 4th, 7 – 11 pm}
Enjoy an evening of live music and a 15-minute fireworks spectacular! Music will be by the Texas Unlimited Band {Country & Rock} and 15-minute fireworks spectacular at 9:30 PM. Keep in mind that no outside food or beverages are allowed, but nearby restaurants offer menu items that can also conveniently be taken to-go. Parking will be $10 in all CITYCENTRE garages beginning at 4 PM. Please allow extra time for parking before and after the event due to large attendance; carpooling and ride sharing such as Uber are highly encouraged.
Katy Freedom Celebration {July 1st, 9 am – 1 pm & 8 – 10 pm}
This collaborative effort will showcase a day filled with activities provided by the Katy Fire Department, Katy Heritage Society and Heritage Park, VFW Lodge and Park, and Katy Parks and Recreation. The morning program will be from 9 am until 1 pm at the City of Katy complex between the Katy Fire Department and VFW Park, and the evening program of fireworks and music will be held in the area near Typhoon Texas and Katy Mills Mall from 8 to 10 pm.
Cinco Ranch LaCenterra’s July 4th Celebration {July 4th, 5:00 – 10:00 pm}
The celebration kicks off with live music performances beginning at 5 p.m. by Velvet Touch, Buck Yeager Band and Level One Band. There is also an interactive kids zone, food and drink for purchase and of course an impressive fireworks show beginning at 9:15 to wrap up the evening.
Fulshear Freedom Fest – Red, White & Boogie {July 1st, 6 – 9:30 pm}
This event will kick-off with a parade at 5:30 pm and come to an end with a fireworks show. Throughout the night, the town will come alive with music from Le Freak as well as food trucks, vendors, and many activities for kids too!

You may see fireworks stands around town, but they are very illegal within the Harris County city limits and in certain annexed areas of town. {We are talking $500 – $2000 fine for each individual firework. Even just having them can cost you. They are serious about this.} Check Fireworks Laws Houston for exact laws and boundaries.
