Last Minute Valentine Ideas {+ Giveaway}

Will somebody pleeease tell me I’m not the only one thinking, “Crap! ย Valentine’s Day is THIS weekend, and my hubby and Iย still have yet to make any plans or buy any gifts?” ย Anybody? ย Somebody??? ย Phew. ย Glad it’s not just me. ย Thankfully, I’ve spent the last few hours coming up withย some awesome options for those last minute lovebirds {aka me}ย —ย plus, our friends at Santikos are sweetening the deal by throwing inย a giveaway for a lucky in loveย winner too!

Ready? ย Here goes…

  • The tried and true dinner and a movie. ย Okay, okay, I get that this isn’t the most creative idea out there…but have you been to aย Santikosย theater yet?!? ย Their experience is sooo much more than “just dinner and a movie” with onsite dining areas, in-theatre dining service, adult beverages {cocktails, beer, AND wine}, gelato, frozen yogurt, Starbucks…do I really need to continue? ย Oh, and my FAVORITE part of watching a movie at Santikos with my honey – they have a VIP seating area exclusively for guests 18 and older with easy access to the bar. ย Yes, please! ย {You can go ahead and snag your tickets here. ย Thankyouverymuch.}
  • Make it a family date day. ย Forgot to line upย a babysitter back in the fall when they were all getting booked? ย Don’t worry – you’re not alone. ย Instead, make it a family date day! ย Pack up the kidsย and head over to Santikos’s own Palladium for their huge arcade with all of the latest and greatest games and then make a stop by the onsite Olympic Lanes forย 16 lanes of bowling too. ย This is ALWAYS a winner with my two crazies and a great way to burn some energy before we head in to catch a show.
  • Reschedule for the next day…or the next week…or the next month. ย While having plans on the actual day of loveย is always nice, remember that you can celebrate your L-O-V-E any day of the year. ย Schedule a babysitter and snag a ticket for a Sunday matinee with your hubby, or make a date with just you and your kiddo to enjoy a mid-week bowling break, or plan an over the top full day duringย Spring Break. ย Don’t feel confined to February 14th…plan a special day to soak up some time with your love {or little loves} whenever you can!
  • Make your ownย coupon. If life is crazy and you just can’t commit to one. more. thing. right now – go forย a homemade coupon! ย Buy a gift card online, type out a sweet little note or draw a fun doodle of you and your honey holding hands at the movie, and then make sure to plan a night out SOON!!! ย If I’m being completely honest, this is the option I’m probably going to go with. ย My husband has been beggggging me to go catch a flick with him, so I’m going to buy enough to cover diner, movie, and a few drinks, and then include a note that the movie selection is up to him {invaluable!}. ย I know it will make him swoon…and it might even buy me a night off of dishes and bath duty!

  1. If I had to pick a last minute gift idea I’d keep it simple and go with the tried and true dinner and a movie. Especially with most of the Oscar favorites coming back to theaters this weekend.

  2. Valentines is definitely “family date” day, though this year we are going down to see Lion Dancers, making a craft at Lakeshore Learning, dropping by a birthday party, then finishing with a dinner at Luby’s (Sharpstown location is ALL YOU CAN EAT on Sat…hubby can fill up on his beloved fish).
