{Recap} Back to School Play Date with Life Time Fitness

Please Note :: This play date would not have been possible without all of our incredible event sponsors. Thank you to Life Time Fitness – Champions for being our gracious hosts and to Momma’s Gonna SNAP Photography for capturing all of the fun below!

With the kiddos now back to school and life returning to {somewhat} normal, it’s been such a blast to look back over our fun-filled play date with Life Time Fitness – Champions!  After all, it was such an AMAZING way to wrap up summer, and if you weren’t able to attend…we gotta say…you definitely missed out.  Just look at all of the fun below…

Life Time Fitness - 1

If you’ve never been to a Life Time before, then you are definitely in for a treat from the moment you first walk in the door!  The space is huge, but feels personable and is easy to navigate.  The details are immaculate, but the club is comfortable and like a second home.  And the staff?  They are one of a kind and will do their best to make sure your experience is nothing but perfect.  Not to mention, the variety of programs and events that each and every location has to offer is beyond any mama’s expectation.  From sports to fitness to kid’s activities to health services and more, you will be blown away at all that Life Time has to offer everyone in your family!

Life Time Fitness - 2

Of course, there was no way that we could have explored all that Life Time Fitness – Champions has to offer during just one play date, but us mamas did get to try out two of their group fitness classes – Body Shred and LifeBarre.  Y’all.  We were sweating and laughing and moving and having so much fun, but it was a WORK OUT!  The Body Shred class is high-intensity and uses the 3-2-1 interval/circuit training approach.  It constantly kept us moving and focusing on different areas of our body, and we were all watching our FitBits as the number of calories burned continued to climb.  Then, we switched gears and tried out LifeBarre which blends classical ballet exercises, pilates, and traditional conditioning movements into a dynamic class that worked muscles we didn’t even know we had.  Thankfully, no dance experience was required though!

While we were moving and grooving, the kiddos were downstairs in the Kids Academy, and judging by their smiles and squeals at pick up – they had a BLAST!  If you’ve never been, the indoor academy space is one of those areas that you just have to see to believe – with an indoor playground, kid-size basketball court, technology area, dedicated space for babies/toddlers, a classroom, kids’ fitness studio, rockwall climbing, and SO much more.  And during our play date there, our kiddos got a little taste of it all.  Plus, us mamas were super excited to learn that Life Time offers birthday parties, parent’s night out, swim lessons, and camp since our kiddos were so crazy about their time there as well!

All of that exercising and playing definitely worked up an appetite, and thankfully, we were treated to a delicious gourmet lunch at the on-site Life Cafe!  Salads, sandwiches, chicken, pizza…all of the selections were packed full of healthy and wholesome ingredients, and they definitely hit the spot after working up a sweat.

The official play date wrapped up after lunch, but Life Time Fitness – Champions graciously let us hang out and soak up some sun at their beautiful pool that afternoon too.  Then, as if they hadn’t done enough already, they each sent us home with these awesome bags packed full of goodies and special offers as well.  Our favorite?  The coupon to Life Spa!  Did you know that if you schedule a service there {whether you are a member or not}, you can drop your kiddos off at the Kids Academy to play while you enjoy some mom time ALONE?!?  Life. Changing.  We strongly suggest you book a massage or a haircut or a mani/pedi now.

Kelly D
Kelly is the founder of Houston Moms Blog and has lived in this beautiful city nearly all of her life. She has a degree in education from Texas State University and was honored to teach special education for eight years to some of the cutest little kiddos you could ever meet. While teaching, Kelly met Cody – a tall drink of water and country boy to the core – and together, they fell in love, got married, and decided to start a family. In March 2011, they welcomed Hayes into the world, a silly but smart little boy with a story you have to read to believe. And in April 2013, their family was complete with the addition of Hadley, a super gregarious and oh-so-cute baby girl. Now, Kelly devotes her days to caring for her own little ones…and would not trade this new job of hers for the world! In her not-so-spare time, Kelly loves meeting up with her girlfriends for margaritas, failing miserably at Pinterest projects, and exploring this big old city with her two favorite little side-kicks in tow.
