A Houston Moms Guide to February 2021

It’s FEBRUARY! Yay! Do y’all feel like January was the longest.month.ever? It makes us even more excited to usher in this month of love. We have compiled tons of fun events for you all over our beautiful Houston. We hope you can get out with the ones nearest and dearest to you and celebrate this super fun month.

But before we get to all of our February happenings this month, we wanted to thank UTMB Health for partnering alongside us this month as we spread awareness for the “silent killer”… heart disease.

  • Heart disease is the #1 killer of women and the leading cause of death of all Americans, with 1 in 4 deaths being caused by it each year. While much of the disease and its conditions can be prevented or managed through living a healthy lifestyle, it’s important to seek cardiovascular care when you need it. With more than 30 locations throughout Southeast Houston, Galveston and the Bay Area, UTMB Health makes that easy to do.
  • Take charge of your health and call them at 800-917-8906 to schedule an appointment and visit utmbhealth.com/heart to learn more. February may be American Heart Month, but keeping you and your heart healthy is their cardiologists’ #1 priority every day.
  • Virtual event: Participate in the 2021 National Go Red Day on Feb. 5. Thanks to the American Heart Association, it’s a tradition to wear red the first Friday of every February to help raise awareness about cardiovascular disease. For more information, visit https://fb.me/e/4NPs8PxJP

Additionally, we can’t wait to introduce you to our newest round of contributors this month, some of which have already started writing ahhh-mazing blog posts for us! Check out our About Me pages and meet our team!

Jennifer H
Jennifer is a native outside-the-loop’er growing up and living in the Richmond/Rosenberg area. She has a Bachelors in theology and political science from Texas Lutheran University and a Masters in Liberal Arts from Texas Christian University. She and her husband Greg met in 2010 through Match.com and fell in love on their first date. They married exactly one year later and have fought lovingly and constantly since. They have two amazingly brilliant girls, Kaitlyn {June 2013} and Elizabeth {June 2015} who Jen stays home with during the day. When Jen is not curled in a little ball rocking back and forth with Peppa Pig on in the background, she can be found crafting with her Silhouette and/or binge watching The Office for the millionth time. Jen has an uncanny ability to be comfortable in almost any situation put in front of her, thanks to growing up in politics and on the debate team. Before having kids of her own, she had the opportunity to help other kids through teaching, youth ministry, and generally being a helpful, kind soul.
