My Birthday Favorites {the icing on the cake}

Today is my birthday.  My 34th {I think!}.  So in keeping things light and cheerful around here today, I’m sharing some things and places that I either WANT or things and places that I NEED for a good birthday in my book.  The icing on the cake, if you will, for making this day extra special.

1. For starters and since I’m a huge breakfast person, I’d treat myself to some of Crave’s breakfast cupcakes and coffee, pancakes from Buffalo Grille, or head on over to River Oak Donuts to see what all the fuss is about.  I mean it’s got to be a good one if you start your day with breakfast cupcakes, right!?

2. I’d hit up some stores for a couple hours of shopping.  Retail therapy is a birthday essential in my book.  I’d stop in to Kuhl-Linscomb {best candle selection in town}, maybe Nordstrom {mainly for the Laura Mercier counter and to browse the shoe department}, Paper Source, and probably a quick trip to Anthropologie.

3.  I would most definitely want to indulge my sweet tooth.  A cookies & cream cake from Carrie Made the Cake would most certainly satisfy my birthday sweet tooth.  Love, love, love this flavor!  Some cake balls from Eggleston’s Edibles or one of her precious cakes would certainly make my day too!

4. This year I’d hope to open up some personalized jewelry or a gemstone ring as my birthday gift.

5. Dinner at Pass and Provisions or Uchi wouldn’t be too shabby either.  I’ve yet to dine at either of these, but I’m dying to since I’m no longer pregnant.

6. I’d love to wind down with glass or two of Rombauer.

7.  And finally, my perfect {and most realistic, ha!} birthday evening would include snuggles with my two goblins.  Being able to see Halloween and my birthday through their eyes year after year is the ultimate ‘icing on my cake.’
