Recap #2 :: BIG Fun at The Little Gym {The Woodlands & Memorial}

TLG Play Date Header

Please Note :: This entire play date series would not be possible without all of our wonderful event sponsors! Thank you to The Little Gym of The Woodlands and The Little Gym of  Houston-Memorial for hosting such fun classes, to Chick-Fil-A in The Woodlands and at I-10 and Silber for the delicious snacks and drinks, and a special thanks to our dear friend Momma’s Gonna SNAP Photography for all of the beautiful pictures yet again.

After our first two play dates in this BIG Fun series were such massive hits…we weren’t sure we would be able to pull it off again.  But I am thrilled to say that — we did!  Our Spooktacular edition in late October was nothing short of a success, and of course, we are so grateful to each and every little ghost and goblin {+ their moms!} as well as all of our amazing sponsors who help to make these play dates just so. much. fun.  Don’t forget that we still have many more locations to hit within this series, and we genuinely hope that you will try to make it out to at least one {or one MORE!} as 2015 rolls in.  And if you’re looking for something even sooner, don’t forget to check out our holiday play date happening NEXT WEEK too!

The Little Gym 2 - 1

Can we just say that both The Little Gym – The Woodlands AND The Little Gym – Houston Memorial know how to have some serious fun?!?  One of our absolute favorite things about play dates at The Little Gym is that our sweet kiddos are having such a blast – that they don’t even realize what amazing skill sets they are picking up.  Walking on balance beams?  That helps strengthen their balance and builds coordination.  Silly songs and follow along activities?  That works on their listening skills and ability to follow directions.  Ball games within the whole group?  That promotes sharing, teamwork, cooperation, and so much more.  But what our kiddos see is just a whole lot of FUN!  Does it get any better than that for moms and kids alike?  We don’t think so.

The Little Gym 2 - 2Of course, all of that playing and learning works up a CRAZY appetite, and we are always so, so thankful to have our friends from Chick-Fil-A there to help fill our bellies full.  For these play dates, we had Chick-Fil-A of The Woodlands there with those delicious little chick-n-minis, kid-friendly juice boxes, and big ole’ jugs of sweet tea.  Then, we had Chick-Fil-A at I-10 and Silber bring in chick-n-minis, cookies, drinks, PLUS – that fun loving cow made an appearance and posed for lots of picture opps too.  {Side note…but I just got a sudden craving for a chicken sandwich and waffle fries.  Did you?}

The Little Gym 2 - 3

As always, we were so, so grateful to have our dear friend Momma’s Gonna SNAP on hand to take all of these precious pictures.  {AND her crime fighting turtle and pretty princess there to play too!}  This fun mama LOVES the holidays, and she always makes capturing each one such a joy and something to treasure for years and years to come.  If you haven’t already, you MUST check out her Facebook page to see more of her gorgeous work…and maybe even spy some of the latest shoots from our contributor team as well!

A Little Tidbit About The Little Gym

{As we close out each recap throughout this series, we are going to be sharing a little extra piece of information about The Little Gym that you might not know.  Feel free to contact the gym closest to you for more information or for any other questions you may have as well!}

With the holidays knocking at our door, we can’t help but mention that a membership to The Little Gym makes an absolutely PERFECT gift this holiday season.  You could wrap it up with one of their fun maze movers or air cubes and put it under the tree for your child to enjoy that day — and then for weeks and weeks to come.  Or better yet – have grandma and grandpa gift it to them!  We just know they would love giving a gift that is super fun AND a great teaching tool…plus, they could even take your little one to a class every once in awhile too.  {While you go grab some coffee, or a nap, or get some errands run ALONE!}  The options are limitless with this one, so we encourage you to contact the location nearest you to go over all of the possibilities soon!

Kelly D
Kelly is the founder of Houston Moms Blog and has lived in this beautiful city nearly all of her life. She has a degree in education from Texas State University and was honored to teach special education for eight years to some of the cutest little kiddos you could ever meet. While teaching, Kelly met Cody – a tall drink of water and country boy to the core – and together, they fell in love, got married, and decided to start a family. In March 2011, they welcomed Hayes into the world, a silly but smart little boy with a story you have to read to believe. And in April 2013, their family was complete with the addition of Hadley, a super gregarious and oh-so-cute baby girl. Now, Kelly devotes her days to caring for her own little ones…and would not trade this new job of hers for the world! In her not-so-spare time, Kelly loves meeting up with her girlfriends for margaritas, failing miserably at Pinterest projects, and exploring this big old city with her two favorite little side-kicks in tow.
