Summer Camp Time: Basketball for All!

Summer is just around the corner! Have you made plans yet? If you’re like me, a stay at home and work from home mom, the anticipation of summer causes a little anxiety. Don’t get me wrong, I look forward to the laziness and relaxing of schedules. But I know the days can tend to get very long and very hot. I want my kids to have fun and stay busy. While I try not to make it my job to entertain them, I do like to have a few fun opportunities on the calendar. Even though it feels a little early, now really is the time to start making those plans and booking those activities!

Stay Active, Have Fun

There are so many different options out there for summer camps but if you’re looking for something both fun and active, look no further than basketball! Playing basketball can help improve your child’s physical fitness, coordination, and overall health. It gets kids off the couch and away from those screens for a little while. And it’s a great way to build confidence, teamwork skills, and social connections! If you’re looking for a great summer camp option for your basketball-loving kids, check out Scott Pera Basketball Camps, located on the campus of Rice University!

Scott Pera Basketball Camps are dedicated to providing an exceptional learning experience while maintaining a fun and engaging atmosphere your kids will love. Designed for players of all ages and all abilities, every child can benefit from the excellent instruction and coaching provided by their experienced staff. And the mechanics and drills that are taught at these camps are the same ones they use with their college players! You can feel confident knowing your child is learning from the best around.

An Encouraging Environment

But it’s not just about the skills and drills at Scott Pera Basketball Camps. Their experienced and enthusiastic coaches work hard to create a supportive, encouraging, and fun environment. It’s important to them that every child feels both welcome and valued. This care and attention not only improves basketball skills, but helps build a child’s confidence. Kids will grow in their sense of teamwork and their social skills.

Scott Pera Basketball Camps offers seven different options throughout the summer that run Monday through Friday from 9am-3pm. The camps are for both boy and girls entering grades 1-9. Check out the schedule here to find a week that works for your family! Campers will be grouped in leagues by age and ability. Bethany, the daughter of an army chaplain and a special education teacher, grew up moving every 2-3 years. She considers herself an introvert who had to learn how to make friends quickly! She met her Houstonian husband, Paul, in college and they married in 2004. They first settled just north of Houston, where she earned her master's degree at Sam Houston State in School Psychology. After working in public education for a couple of years, she decided to stay home full time with their children, Charlie {2008}, Norah {2010}, and Will {2013}. The family moved to Katy in 2012, where they’ve been ever since. She loves decorating and even had her own small business for a while. She also loves to read, binge-watch old TV shows, talk politics and enneagram, and will not turn down a cup of strong coffee or a good conversation with a friend.
