Taking Medical Care to the Next Level

As always, we are thrilled to partner with Next Level Urgent Care to save our mamas both time and money.

Let’s face it ::  illness and injuries are inevitable.  Every person reading this article has experienced common cold symptoms like fever, runny nose and sore throat.  Even if you have never suffered a bone fracture you have probably experienced sprains or muscle aches.  Many of us try to recover on our own using over-the-counter medications or other natural remedies.  Sometimes, despite our efforts, we have to get help from medical professionals.  All people should have a primary care doctor functioning like a wellness quarterback; they call the plays that prevent chronic illness. Your PCP is also extremely valuable because they can perform the screening tests necessary to diagnose medical conditions early which gives you a better chance of recovery.  Your primary care doctor might also be your first call if you are acutely ill or injured.  But what do you do if they don’t have an appointment today, this week, or the next few weeks?

Save Thousands with Urgent Care

When faced with the dilemma above many Houstonians find themselves in a local emergency room.  Free-standing ERs can be found in most new neighborhood developments.  They are oftentimes in strip centers with large grocery stores.  They boast low wait times and are usually very convenient.  They are also, on average, about ten times more expensive than clinics!  At Next Level Urgent Care we hear countless stories from our patients about how they were shocked by the bill after visiting local emergency rooms for care.   Common diagnoses like strep throat, ear infection, urinary tract infection and even most flu could easily be managed in a clinic setting, but may cost close to $2,000 for an ER visit.  At Next Level Urgent Care, we boast that patients paying cash will never pay more than $200 for an office visit.  Additionally, simple visits that only require a quick test and a few prescriptions will only cost $155.  Generally, patients with insurance are only responsible for their copay.  The urgent care copay is comparable to a primary care copay.  If you’re curious just check the back of your insurance card or call your provider to find out.

Get the App!

Urgent Care centers know that convenience is the key to patient satisfaction.  That’s why at Next Level we developed a free app available for download to all Houstonians.  It allows you to find our nearest location and check in from your phone.  Our goal is to severely reduce your clinic wait time.  We are able to text you when your room is available so that you get in and out in under an hour.  Nothing is more valuable than your time.  We understand this and work hard to make sure you have the best possible experience.

What We Treat

At Next Level we take x-rays, splint and cast broken bones, give breathing treatments, administer IV fluids and provide intramuscular injections for pain and infection.  We also perform laceration repair for big cuts, incision and drainage for abscess, foreign body removal and ingrown toenail removal.  Our specialty is treating common problems like viral upper respiratory infections,  allergies, strep throat, influenza, asthma, bronchitis, sinusitis, pneumonia, cellulitis and urinary tract infection.  Quick lab tests are available for the rapid diagnosis of strep throat, influenza, mononucleosis, respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) and more.

Occasionally we have patients come into our clinics with an issue that is beyond our scope of care.   Sometimes we try to help ill patients by providing nebulizer treatments or IV fluids when appropriate.  When it becomes clear that our intervention is not enough we get those patients to the emergency room with no out of pocket charges.  Our mission is to provide high quality-affordable healthcare for all and we strongly believe that no one should go broke because of common illness.  A healthy body is a true blessing and we all have a responsibility to take care of what we have. If ever you or your family are in need of good care we hope that you will stop by one of our twelve locations in town.
