“Will my child be ready for elementary school?” “What preschool will best prepare them for Kindergarten?”

I’ve been the parent of young children for almost a decade, and I’ve asked myself these questions many times over the years. In today’s world, where competition in academics is more prevalent than ever, parents like me want to be sure they’re giving their child every advantage and opportunity. That means ensuring their education begins early—and gets off to the right start. While I committed myself to teaching them as much as I could at home, I always knew my children would go to preschool. In my view, children learn so much in a structured school environment, gaining crucial academic as well as social skills. Choosing the right preschool with the right learning environment was hugely important to me.

Choosing the Right Preschool

When I was choosing a preschool for my children to attend, there were many factors to consider. I spent many months weighing my options carefully to make sure that I was making the best decision for my family. My list of must-haves for a preschool included::

  • Curriculum and learning experiences
  • Building safety and security {tough to think about in today’s climate, but absolutely crucial}
  • Physical fitness, with plenty of indoor and outdoor activity
  • Healthy food selections
  • Extracurricular learning opportunities
  • Constant communication with families

More than Just Daycare

In my search for the perfect preschool for my child, I toured multiple schools, and all of them had their positives, but just one checked every box of requirements on my list:: The Children’s Courtyard®.

When I found The Children’s Courtyard®, I found way more than just daycare. At this school, achievement starts early. Their early childhood education experience begins in warm, nurturing infant classrooms, and continues through programs for school-age students.

Inspired by the HighScope educational philosophy, the foundation of the school’s approach to early education is active learning and children’s initiative. Children’s critical thinking, self-confidence, and problem-solving abilities are developed through strong teacher-child interactions and a robust Plan-Do-Review process. The result is an independent child, ready for success. I love this approach so much for my creative, inquisitive little people I’m raising.

As a committed partner to busy, working parents, the school features flexible offerings such as full- and part-time enrollment options. As a mom who works part-time, this option is perfect for me. Another plus? They are committed to the complete well-being of your growing child through healthy food choices and plenty of physical activity. I am consistently impressed that this school reinforces the healthy lifestyle I prioritize at home.

A Preschool that Prioritizes Parent Involvement

I want to be involved and know what’s going on while my children are at preschool. Thankfully, The Children’s Courtyard makes communication with parents a high priority. Even when the children are away, parents won’t miss a single precious moment. With the Brightwheel mobile app, parents receive regular updates of their child’s day, including photos and videos.

Choosing the right preschool and getting a child’s education off to a great start is one of the most important decisions a parent will make. For those in the middle of this process, learn more at ChildrensCourtyard.com and schedule a tour today!
