Houston Spring and Summer Fun: A Guide to an Astros Game

Spring is here and summer is coming, and this time of year is all about baseball. Our Houston Astros are set for another red hot season, and visiting Minute Maid Park is a must-do on your summer bucket list. Grab your tickets and your best orange and blue – there is so much to do at the ball field!

Get There Early

If you’re an early bird, you can get the best parking at reasonable prices. Our favorite lots are along Preston – the closer you get to Minute Maid, the more you will pay. Once parked, head on in and be one of the lucky fans to receive that game’s promotions. Bobble heads and replica rings are always a favorite.

Getting there early also means watching our boys practice. Head on down to the field on the home side. You can see batting practice, and you might just get lucky with an autograph. Early fans also have time to cruise around our stadium for fun photo ops like the new mural at home plate.

Any Seat is a Good Seat

When purchasing tickets, know any seat is going to get you great views. We recently sat in the 400s on the third base side and loved seeing some Breggy bombs! We also love the 300s on the first base side because it’s easy access to the Michelob Ultra Lounge where the parents can grab a quick Crawford Bock if needed.

New for 2024: Go Ahead Entry

This season, Astros fans (over 18) have the option of using Go Ahead Entry on the MLB Ballpark App. This is advanced facial recognition technology which will make gaining entry into Minute Maid Park faster and hands-free! This option is simple and quick to set up and is a huge win for fans!

Buy Me Some Peanuts and Cracker Jacks

You and your crew will not go hungry while watching the ‘Stros win the big game. Minute Maid has limitless options when it comes to concessions. Wings at Pluckers. A burger at Shake Shake. House Smoked Pastrami. A margarita from El Tiempo. Everyone will leave full after the game ends.

Shop ‘Til You Drop

Minute Maid Park has team stores on all levels for you to grab some merchandise. Or, if you want to get some goodies ahead of time, there are small shops that provide unique tees and other accessories for the biggest Astros fans. Check out State Line Designs or Apollo HOU before you hit the field.

Summer is here, and the Astros are on fire. Plan a Sunday Funday with an early game or hit up one on Friday and stay for the Friday fireworks. No matter when you go, attending an Astros game should definitely be in your summer plans.
